Lake Verde
Lake Verde, at about 1053 metres above sea level, is a small, shallow lake with a perimeter of approximately 500 metres, located near the village of Cervara. Surrounded by Apennine flora, the lake offers pleasant days for relaxation and excursions in nature, and it is particularly picturesque in autumn when the surrounding forest takes on hues from yellow to red, creating a stunning foliage.
Near Lake Verde, there are a few houses, once shepherds’ huts used during transhumance periods. A dirt path leads from Lake Verde to the picturesque Farfarà Waterfall. From here, it is also possible to reach the Via degli Abati, an ancient route used by monks that connected the ancient monastery of Bobbio, in the province of Piacenza, to Pontremoli.
