Lake Scagliolo, or Lake Scaie, is one of the most picturesque “bozzi” in the upper Magra, freshwater pools carved by the river itself among the sandstone rocks lining its banks near the locality of Molinello, not far from Pontremoli. In this often changing section of the river, Lake Scaie is the largest. The pool is nestled between two large polished rocks, where it is possible to swim in its cold, clear waters during the summer months.
