Palazzo Malaspina

The large Malaspina palace, located in the ancient vicinity of San Colombano, belonged to the Marquises Malaspina of Mulazzo, as evidenced by the family crest engraved on the capital of a column dating back to a previous layout of the building. The house was remodeled between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries when it was bought by Giov. Mario Curini and in the nineteenth century when it was restored by the Giumelli family.

The faà§ade is a harmonious mature Baroque prospectus: the windows have an interrupted tympanum with an amphora-shaped pediment while the cornice is decorated with ovules, dentils and metopes. The portal is imposing and consists of a double frame surmounted by a mask.

The apartment located on the noble floor is decorated with valuable frescoes dating back to the late eighteenth century with details of great value, original of the time.
